Witching Hour Werewolf Style

A vampire revenant in Russia is called an Upyr or Oupyr. This vampire is created when a heretic, sorcerer or witch dies.

It can also be created when a werewolf and witch have a baby.

The Upyr looks like a normal person. It’s active during the hours of noon to midnight. It attacks people in their own homes, killing the children first, then the parents.

It drains his victims of blood, then using iron like teeth it chews into the chest to eat the heart. Its teeth are its greatest asset and it uses them to gnaw through the frozen ground during the winter to escape its own grave.

Destroying this creature is difficult. The only way to find its grave is to attach a string to the Upyr’s clothing when it flees from an attack. –Easier said than done- Follow the string to the grave.

Soak the ground –all of it completely- With holy water. The Upyr must be staked through the heart to keep it in its grave. –It must be done in one blow or the creature will rise again.

Another way is to decapitate it and burn the corpse to ashes.

  1. LOL – you should have given an Alert to Breakfasters not to read this Mari 😀

Fascinating, Mari. The Upyrs can be created quite differently, and still act the same.
The offspring of werewolf and witch is always an Upyr?

Oohh, interesting. Must bear this in mind for future stories…

  4. Awesome info, Mari. But, Mathair and I were wondering if the vampires would have to be a succubus/incubus?

I’m not sure I understand the question, Ladies, can you rephrase it?

      • Well, we’ve done some research on vampires before, (mind you our knowledge is novice at best). We read somewhere that it was only a succubus or incubus that could have children and that other vampires were unable to procreate. We’re pretty sure the incubus and succubus were a South American legend, but we’ve heard a couple of authors use it in novels, i.e. Breaking Dawn. We figured a succubus (female vampire with the ability to bear children) would be the only ones to procreate. Sorry for the mix up, Mari. As this is all fictitious, we’re sure we’re being absolutely silly asking you this, but you’re so knowledgeable in this topic. 🙂

I’ve learned that I should understand the question before I answer. I’ve overwhelmed people before.

Succubus and Incubus are sexual vampires, they feed from sexual energy (some can also drink blood).
Both are able to procreate (it gets tricky in some lore) however, there are other males in Vampire Lore and Mythologies that can procreate with human females.
A lot of authors use pieces of various vampires… like Edward being able to father a child. He doesn’t follow the other aspects of an Incubus though.
I’ll have to do a post soon about the Succubus/Incubus, and the other male vampires who can father little ones. 😀 Thanks for the idea Ladies. 😀
