Full Moon

It’s time again for another Wolf’s Moon post.
The Wolf's Moon

Today will take a look at the Full Moon, and werewolves -werecreatures.

It’s been believed that the light of a full moon could only transform Were-creatures.

Ancient Greek and Romans associated the moon with the underworld, humans, and inhumans who used the night to do their magic. Witches, Werewolves and other shape-shifters used the moon for their power and just like the moon changed throughout the month so could they. Changing into bats, wolves, dogs, rats or any other animal they chose. They could also change their victims into animals.

It’s widely believed that wolves and dogs howl wildly at the full moon. Animal control and Park rangers disagrees, they say the full moon seems to calm canines because they can see their surroundings better, by the light of the full moon.

In indigenous tribes, a shaman or great warrior may have the spirit of a wolf (or any animal for that matter) which they can take the shape of. The human learns from the animal, and possibly defends while in that form. These shape-shifters can do so day or night all month long. There is no need of the full moon for them.

Next Wolf’s Moon post… I’m thinking about the wolf/human creature vs the wolf animal creature. What do you think? What would you like to learn about werewolves?

  1. There are several stories published with wolves and werewolves meeting, but one I remember that explained that wolves didn’t like werewolves because they were ‘twisted’ 🙂

May I use the wolf howling at the moon, https://mariwells.files.wordpress.com/2013/09/wolf-howling-silhouette-sitting.jpg?w=474&h=291, free of charge on a website and possibly as part of a logo for a business that I want to start?
